American Red Cross Appoints Margaret Sánchez Chair of National Diversity Council
American Red Cross Chairman David McLaughlin and President and CEO Marsha J. Evans are pleased to announce the appointment of Margaret A. Sánchez, Principal, Sánchez & Associates, as Chair of its National Diversity Council. In this advisory role, Mrs. Sánchez will guide the council in its collaboration with the Board of Governors and senior leadership to establish a comprehensive business approach to diversity for the American Red Cross.

"As part of our strategy of total diversity in the American Red Cross, we must design programs and services that address the needs of all people in our communities," said David McLaughlin, Chairman, American Red Cross. "We must strive to recruit from every segment of the community both volunteers and employees who can help us reach our goals."

Involved with organizational development consulting, program evaluation, management, and education since 1973, Mrs. Sánchez brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in strategic planning and change management to the American Red Cross. She serves as Principal of her own organizational development consulting company, Sánchez & Associates in New York and has worked with corporations such as Eastman Kodak Company, General Motors, Bausch & Lomb and Aventis Pharmaceuticals on implementing diversity practices, benchmarking processes and diversity training for their employees.

As a Hispanic business woman, she has a personal and professional desire and interest in promoting and advocating for diversity in our communities. She is the former Board Chair of the Greater Rochester Chapter of the American Red Cross and resides in Rochester, New York.

"Under the experienced leadership of Margaret Sánchez, I look forward to working with our National Diversity Council to forge ahead in our efforts to make the Red Cross a more inclusive organization," said Marsha Evans, President and CEO, American Red Cross.
