Power of Diversity Conference 2002 a Great Success! 700 People Attend from more than 100 Companies and Organizations

The Greater Rochester Diversity Council’s fourth biennial conference was a great success, attracting approximately 700 people from almost 120 companies and organizations. It was by far the most broadly attended conference in the GRDC’s history, providing a rich opportunity for dialogue and discussion. Attendees came from all across New York State from Buffalo to Binghamton.

Comments from those attending were highly favorable, noting the extensive range of topics offered, high caliber presenters, diverse sessions, practical solutions, and the opportunity to meet and interact with people of diverse backgrounds.

The May 14, evening reception, keynote and panel attracted a record number of people including many of the area’s top leaders who are participating in the City of Rochester Biracial Partnership for Community Progress. A special video, produced by WOKR TV 13, provided personal insight into the relationships of some area bi-racial partners.

May 15 conference day provided a rich array of thought provoking and interactive sessions. From the personal opening keynote from Tom Richards, CEO of RGS Energy Group, The Power of Diversity’s principal sponsor, to the captivating closing message of Samuel Betances, the day offered something for everyone.

Many thanks to The Power of Diversity sponsors for their support in making the conference possible.

Plans are already underway for the next conference. So, stay tuned to this website for more information on that and for ongoing updates on GRDC news.
