Stevan G. Ramirez of Kodak to Lead United Way's Hispanic Leadership Development Program

Stevan G. Ramirez, chief quality officer and corporate Kodak Operating System business director and vice president at Eastman Kodak Company, has been appointed the steering committee chair of United Way of Greater Rochester’s Hispanic Leadership Development Program (HLDP).

HLDP is an award-winning development program that provides leadership, communication, and professional skills training to local Hispanics with leadership potential. The goal of HLDP is to identify, train, and promote Hispanics for board and volunteer leadership positions.

“We’re delighted to bring Stevan Ramirez on board as the new chair of our Hispanic Leadership Development Program,” said Peter Carpino, United Way of Greater Rochester president and chief executive officer. “Stevan’s background, along with his long-time commitment to the advancement of Hispanics, makes him especially qualified for this leadership position.”

Ramirez is an active community leader, serving on the board of director’s executive committee at Wilson Commencement Park. He is also a member of the Hispanic MBAs, and is a member and management sponsor of the Kodak Hispanic Organization for Leadership and Advancement (HOLA).

Ramirez was selected in 2003 and 2004 as one of the United States’ 50 most powerful Hispanic executives in technology and business by a leading Hispanic technology magazine, Hispanic Engineer and Information Technology.

Ramirez holds a BS degree in Business Management from the University of Redlands in Redlands, Calif. and an MBA from the Simon School of the University of Rochester.

United Way of Greater Rochester’s Hispanic Leadership Development Program was founded in 1982. Since the program began, there have been more than 400 graduates.

As an organization of donors, United Way of Greater Rochester motivates and organizes people to work for a better life for all by meeting our community’s most important human care needs. It does this through a unified, community-wide effort to mobilize resources — dollars, volunteers, in kind support, and public concern — and applies them in ways that best serve the needs of the greater Rochester, NY region.
