PFLAG holds Monthly Support Group Meetings in Rochester
The Rochester Chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays (PFLAG) is a local organization that promotes the health and well-being of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered (GLBT) individuals, their families and friends. We provide an opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation, and work to create a society that is respectful of human diversity.

PFLAG's primary goal is to provide a supportive place where parents with GLBT children can start their road to understanding, acceptance and celebration, but all who are dealing with GLBT issues are welcome. GLBT children who are in the process of coming out find PFLAG a very comfortable place, and can help parents who often find it easier to listen to the feelings of someone else's GLBT child rather than their own.

Another one of our goals is to reach out into the community to raise awareness of the difficulties facing our sons and daughters. PFLAG parents are available to speak at area schools, colleges and other events. By doing this, we are working for equal - not special - rights for all.
