"Bausch

and better serve our customers, our consumers and our
colleagues," said Ron Zarrella "While
we are pleased to be recognized as a national leader
in diversity, our work is not over. We will continue
to encourage, endorse and embrace diversity in all of
its forms including diversity of thought, experience
and culture to become even more successful as a company
committed to serving a global community."
The
Top 50 Companies for Diversity list was unveiled on
www.DiversityInc.com.
The Top 10 Companies for GLBT Employees will be showcased
on www.DiversityInc.com
on Monday, June 7. Details about the listings, the selection
methodology and the strengths of the winning companies,
including Bausch & Lomb, will appear in the June/July
issue of DiversityInc magazine.
According
to Luke Visconti, partner and co-founder of DiversityInc,
the 2004 Top 50 Companies for Diversity ranking is "the
most in-depth analysis of corporate diversity management,
leadership and marketing ever. For the first time anywhere,
valid standards to evaluate any company in the United
States against the best were developed in every category.
"Managing
diversity is a competitive factor for any business,
from sales and marketing to recruiting and retaining
the best talent," said Visconti. "Beyond marketing
campaigns and recruitment and retention initiatives,
it's how companies such as Bausch & Lomb value their
GLBT employees and provide them with meaningful programs,
such as domestic-partner benefits, that will directly
impact their ability to win the loyalty of this influential
market."
