YMCA Announces Diversity Scholarship and Matching Grant from Roberts Wesleyan College
YMCA of Greater Rochester has announced an enhancement to its diversity scholarship. The scholarship program provides financial assistance and quality work experience to college students who can contribute to the diversity of our organization and who are potential candidates for professional employment with the YMCA. Students must have a strong interest in YMCA involvement and postgraduate career interest in the YMCA.

The enhancement is a Matching Grant offered by Roberts Wesleyan College. The College has instituted the Enhancement of Diversity Scholarship Program (Minority Achievers), for an amount up to $1000 per year. Recipients of the YMCA scholarship who enroll at Roberts will receive the matching grant fund.

YMCA Scholarship Eligibility:

  • Be a member of a recognized racial/ethnic minority group (e.g. African American, Native American, Hispanic American, and Asian American).
  • Be a full-time or part-time matriculated student at an accredited college or university with a minimum of one semester completed.
  • Have a strong interest in YMCA involvement and post graduate career opportunities with the YMCA.
  • Intern at least half-time (16-20 hours per week) at the YMCA during the school year and full-time during the summer.
