Bausch
& Lomb Names McCluski Sr. VP and CFO
Stephen
C. McCluski, senior vice president and chief financial
officer, announced that Efrain Rivera has been named
corporate vice president and assistant treasurer effective
December 8, 2003. Efrain will report to Alan H. Resnick,
corporate vice president and treasurer, who has announced
his plans to retire from the company around the end
of 2004, after 31 years with Bausch & Lomb. Efrain
is expected to succeed Alan as corporate treasurer and
his assignment as assistant treasurer will allow for
an orderly transition for the function.
"Alan
Resnick is one of the most solid, capable financial
executives I've worked with," said Steve McCluski.
"His career at Bausch & Lomb has been distinguished
by ongoing improvement in execution of the treasury
functions and a remarkable ability to adapt to a constantly
changing financial environment. His shoes will be hard
to fill, but he's built a very talented organization
and we're grateful that he has planned his retirement
to allow for a smooth and seamless transition.
"Efrain's
skills and experience in both finance and commercial
operations will be valuable assets in his new assignment,
which he is approaching with his usual enthusiasm and
professionalism," Steve concluded. "We're
very pleased to welcome him back to the company."
Efrain
returns to active duty with the company following a
personal leave of absence due to illness in his family.
He joined Bausch & Lomb in 1989 as senior financial
analyst and held management posts in Corporate Treasury,
Investor Relations and Finance before being named vice
president and controller of the former Vision Care business
in 1998. He was named president of Bausch & Lomb
Latin America and general manager of Bausch & Lomb
Mexico in August 2001 and added responsibility for commercial
operations in Canada in November 2001. He was named
corporate vice president and president of Bausch &
Lomb Latin America and Canada in January 2002.
Efrain
has an MBA in Finance from the William E. Simon Graduate
School of Business at the University of Rochester, a
law degree from New York University and a BS Degree
in Psychology from Houghton College, Houghton, New York.
