Members Co-sponsor "Speaking of Women's Health"
Conference November 13th
Greater
Rochester Diversity Council members, Aetna, Strong Health
and WOKR 13 are lead local co-sponsors of WXXI's presentation
of "Speaking of Women's Health." The event
will be held November 13 from 7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. at
the Clarion Riverside Hotel.
They
join other co-sponsors, the Clarion Riverside Hotel,
Celltech Pharmaceuticals, Shepard Ford and the Rochester
Business Journal, in welcoming WXXI's presentation of
this national event to the Rochester area.
Keynote
Speakers: Robin Miller, MD, MHS, Trusting Your Gut -
Beyond A Woman's Intuition; Paula Statman, Loving The
Skin You're In At Every Age; Diane Rehm, host of The
Diane Rehm Show, NPR, lunch presentation.
The
national Speaking of Women's Health Foundation is a
501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to educating
women to make informed decisions about their health,
well-being and personal safety. Since 1996, Speaking
of Women's Health has been "saving lives through
education" though health education conferences
and health screenings in an ever-growing variety of
venues. Speaking of Women's Health events provide a
quality and pampering experience while permitting attendees
to gather information to better their health and well-being.
The conferences are held in more than 30 cities across
the country. While honoring what it means to be a woman,
important issues such as osteoporosis, diabetes, heart
health, and skin health and minority health education
are addressed.
Speaking
of Women's Health raises fund to support women's health
organizations, hospitals and health programming on public
television stations, as well as supporting national
health initiatives and research. At each conference,
Speaking of Women's Health honors women who make a difference
in their communities. Speaking of Women's Health has
raised more than $2 million for support of women's health
and well-being programs across the nation. For more
