Career
Development Services Launches woman2woman, New Leadership
Series for Women -- Program Starts October 17
Leadership
in the 21st century requires an inclusive partnership
model. Relationship focused and results-oriented, women
have the skills that will increasingly define successful
leadership. Despite the increase in women in management
roles, only one percent of all chief executives in Fortune
500 companies are women.
Career
Development Services, a leader in women's career programming,
examined the barriers to women advancing in the workplace
and has developed a new series, woman2woman. This innovative
program was created to enhance women's leadership capabilities
while connecting them with other women facing the same
issues.
This
breakthrough program starts October 17 and continues
through June 2004. Classes meet from 8:00 a.m. - 4:30
p.m., on the 3rd Friday of each month at Career Development
Services, 706 East Avenue, Rochester, NY. Lunch is provided.
It
includes access to powerful business leaders, women
who understand the issues and know the path to successful
leadership; personal time with a career coach for your
individual growth; customized action learning; case
studies; real issues; and strategic planning through
an individual leadership development plan.
This
program is developed for mid- to senior-level women
looking to enhance their leadership skills. Participants
are selected from written applications and personal
interviews. Selection will be based on experience, commitment
and the potential to make a contribution to the groups'
learning. Women of all racial and ethnic backgrounds
are encouraged to apply.
Program
facilitators are Deb Koen and Mary Bellamy Jones, both
Vice Presidents of Career Development Services. The
fee is $3,000 per participant and includes two personal
coaching sessions plus the 10-month woman2woman Leadership
in Action program.
