"Latinos....
Differently the Same"
On September 7th at the Rochester Public Market, 20
Spanish-speaking countries came together under the theme,
"Latinos.... Differently the Same," to celebrate
their individual heritages under the common bond of
the language.
There
was food, work of arts, clothing, music, etc.... of
over 20 different Spanish-speaking countries. Excellus
BlueCross BlueShield and the festivals' major sponsor,
El Conquistador Restaurant owner, Mr. Juan Contreras,
sponsored the Children's entertainment section and provided
free eye and blood pressure screening. Educational material
was available in Spanish about various treatable diseases
and information on ways to have access to various Health
care programs.
