A Summit of Sisters: Representation, Resistance & Resilience of/by Black Women in America

The students in the Women and Gender Studies Senior Seminar--- Assumed Positions: Re/dis/uncovering Resistance & Resilience in the Black Female Body---  identify and analyze the issues, challenges, achievements, experiences and resistance strategies used by herstorical and contemporary African American women. Through the use of film clips, local interviews, critical readings, guest speakers, live theatre, and distinguished mentors the students present their partial findings, in partnership with the editors-Uncrowned Queens’ founders Peggy Brooks-Bertram & Barbara Seals Nevergold, along with local African American women.
