Miguel Llano, an account executive in business development at Martino Flynn, was recently appointed vice president of Northern New York for the New York Chapter of the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA). In his role as vice president, Llano will be responsible for working with corporate sponsors and area universities to gain leadership and higher education opportunities for the Hispanic community.
Llano joined the NSHMBA in 2008, and was a recipient of the NSHMBA scholarship while pursuing his Masters of Business Administration degree in Entrepreneurship from the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2009. He also served as an ambassador for NSHMBA in the upstate region.
NSHMBA was created in 1988 as a non-profit organization. It serves 32 chapters and 8,000 members in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. It exists to foster Hispanic leadership through graduate management education and professional development. NSHMBA works to prepare Hispanics for leadership positions throughout the U.S., so that they can provide the cultural awareness and sensitivity vital in the management of the nation's diverse workforce.
