The College at Brockport Diversity Conference Committee invites you to submit proposals for presentation at the 10th Anniversary Diversity Conference.
Looking Back, Moving Forward
Building Community Through Diversity
Thursday, September 16, 2010
As we celebrate the 175th Anniversary of the College at Brockport, and our 10th Diversity Conference, this year's theme, Looking Back, Moving Forward, will highlight our growth in understanding and acting upon issues of diversity. Our Conference seeks to promote open-mindedness, celebration of diversity, and acceptance of others on our college campuses and within our communities. The conference also serves as a forum in which to establish or enhance self-awareness in relation to community building endeavors.
Call for Proposals
We request proposals for one-hour break-out sessions that relate to the theme of Looking Back, Moving Forward. Within the context of our theme, we seek proposals that address issues such as sustainability and diversity, the realities of our global community, public and personal citizenship, local activism to increase accessibility and equity across social spaces, and lessons we can learn from the past that carry us to a more just future. Looking Back, Moving Forward can involve the institutions of communities, such as businesses, schools, governments, health care facilities, and law enforcement organizations. Please note: Only topics that reflect the theme of the conference will be considered.
