MCC General Counsel Recognized for Service
Cecero receives award from association of legal professionals


ROCHESTER, N.Y. – June 30, 2009 - Diane M. Cecero, general counsel at Monroe Community College, recently received the Crennel-Branch Award from the Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorneys (GRAWA). The award honors “untiring and exemplary” dedication to the organization and is presented to a GRAWA member who has excelled in promoting the organization and the legal profession.

Cecero served as president of the organization in 1990-91 and is one of the group’s founding members. In 2007, GRAWA recognized her for mentoring, inspiring and nurturing young women as they enter and begin their legal professions.

Cecero received the award from GRAWA at its annual installation dinner on May 21.



Cecero, of Pittsford, joined MCC in 1996. As general counsel to MCC, Cecero provides proactive professional advice on critical legal, strategic and policy issues. She is the college’s chief labor negotiator and chief diversity officer.
