If you've always wanted to try this sport, then NOW's the time! Participate in one of the best cardiovascular and all around conditioning activities, and one of the fastest growing sports in our region. Expect to combine learning with a good workout; instruction will be offered at the pace of the class. No prior rowing experience required. Comfortable, snug fitting attire and sneakers should be worn. Also bring drinking water.
Come and meet Cross Currents team members and learn more about the programs and activities offered by the Genesee Waterways Center . Just in time for upcoming outdoor rowing classes during spring and summer.
About Genesee Waterways Center (GWC):
The GWC is the premier non-profit organization promoting paddling, rowing, and related activities on the unique waterways of the Genesee Region. Cross Currents will be the regional resource for expanding education,
programming, facilities, information and human-powered boating and green
and blue trail activities along the Genesee Waterways to
underrepresented segments of the population.

Cross Currents is the premier example of a collective response by
minority rowers to the need and desire to diversify and promote
paddling, rowing, and related activities on the unique waterways of the
Genesee Region.
Objectives:
1. To promote water sports such as, but not limited to rowing and
kayaking to non-traditional, underrepresented populations
2. Identify opportunities between the Parties for further
development of joint or cooperative projects or programs designed to
increase minority participation in water-related sports and activities.
3. Identify opportunities between the Parties for further
development of joint or cooperative projects or programs designed to
increase minority youth awareness of and participation in water-related
sports and activities
4. To mutually cooperate on seeking and securing funding to promote
and sustain the minority water sports program.
5. To mutually cooperate on Marketing and Promotions; to develop a
mutually beneficial outreach and communications plan |
