What are your areas of interest and expertise related to workforce diversity?
I’m interested in learning more about organizational practices and policies as they relate to workforce diversity. At this time I have no specific area of expertise related to workforce diversity. However, I do have a general knowledge of cultural competence in the workforce.

What projects are you focusing on within your organization to advance the understanding of diversity in the workplace?
I’m currently a co-chair on the agency’s Cultural Competence Committee. As co-chair on the committee one of my responsibilities is to find ways in which to educate and train staff on all aspects of diversity and cultural competency. In 2006, the primary focus will be on enhancing the agency’s orientation training and providing a series of training for supervisors and direct support employees.

What initiatives are you working on outside of your organization to advance the understanding of diversity?
I’m not currently working on any initiatives outside of the agency. However, I would like to become more involved in community based diversity initiatives. I would like to find the right project. Perhaps through Lifetime’s membership with the GRDC, I will come into contact with the right project for me.

How do you expect membership in the GRDC benefit your organization?
I expect to benefit from GRDC through attending and participating in the monthly meetings and having an opportunity to meet with other members to share workforce ideas, strategies and practices. It will also be beneficial to me in my role as co-chair of the cultural competence committee to be informed of training and seminar opportunities for me as well as other staff members of Lifetime.
