Instructions for Submitting a Proposal
We invite you to submit a proposal for panels, papers, workshops, roundtables, exhibits, films, documentaries and media or multi-media presentations on the history of the Underground Railroad.

We are seeking leaders for sessions and activities that cover a variety of formats, especially those that go beyond traditional conference presentations and convey the power of experiencing the Underground Railroad. We encourage proposals for scholarly, experiential and participatory sessions that are focused, reflective and generate dialogue.

Feedback from prior conferences has indicated that attendees prefer participating in a variety of presentations and activities. Therefore, concurrent sessions will be limited to 75 minutes total including time for Q&A.

1 - Complete the online conference presentation proposal below. Fill in all of the information requested including a biographical sketch of 75 words or less. In addition, please submit your photo in jpeg format with 300dpi resolution. If your proposal is selected, the information you provide will be printed in the conference brochures, as submitted.

2- In addition to completing the form, please send supporting materials that demonstrate performance. Examples include: audio/video tapes of presentations and program evaluations from other events. Materials such as articles, books or letters of recommendation are not acceptable as proof of performance. Please note that materials will not be returned. Suitable materials will be added to our Resource Center.

Please send supporting materials to:
