Conference Overview

On October 2 & 3, 2011, the Workforce Diversity Network (WDN) will present its seventh major conference, The Power of Inclusion, at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. The focus of the event will be on the processes for and benefits of building diverse and inclusive organizations.

This is the seventh conference presented by the Workforce Diversity Network, which has organized some of the nation’s highest attended workforce diversity conferences. More than 3,000 people representing more than 200 companies and organizations from all over the country attended the previous conferences and we expect this event to build on that demonstrated success.

Why is It Important?

For your organization to achieve its maximum potential, it’s essential to understand the way diversity and inclusion are connected to how effective your people are, how well they work together and how well you are able to tap their talents and potential. Successful organizations create inclusive cultures where people are engaged in their work, know their ideas count and are respected for what they do.

Who Should Attend?

Employees, managers, senior executives and CEOs from companies and non-profit organizations including healthcare, educational institutions, and government agencies
who want to:

  • Positively impact productivity, morale and organization results
  • Interact with and learn from others facing similar challenges
  • Take new ideas back to apply in their organizations
  • Be inspired!

What Will Be Covered?

For years people have been talking about diversity and inclusion in terms of programs and initiatives, but diversity is about results. Learn how to achieve the results you want. The conference will feature over 20 sessions including keynote speakers, expert panels and concurrent sessions presented by some of the nation’s most highly regarded diversity and inclusion experts, addressing the following topics:.

  • Business Case/Strategies/Metrics
  • Developing Cultural Competence
  • Creating Inclusive Cultures
  • Recruitment/Development/Retention of a Diverse Workforce
  • Leadership Role & Competencies
  • Current Trends in Diversity and Inclusion

If the status quo is not good enough for you…if you’re looking to improve and bring new ideas, perspectives and energy into your organization…attend The Power of Inclusion. This dynamic conference will help you maximize the power of the multiple perspectives in your organization and apply them to get better results!

What Attendees Said...

I have learned so much in these 3 days. Thank you for putting on this conference. Thank you again!!

The entire conference was a “best” experience. I'm already looking forward to the next conference!

Excellent examples and finally some tools!

This was a really great experience!

I loved how the speakers engaged the audience. I love the idea of giving and receiving business cards from speakers and the ability to get newsletters etc from them.

Enjoyed all sessions attended – gained lots of strategies to take with me and implement.

Very good workshops, lots of laughter, lots of “ah ha” moments.

The networking and interactive workshops provided a solid foundation.
